Remarks

One of the most affordable options on the west coast to acquire recreational property, this modest size, .163 acre lot is one of a series of lots created at the site of the old Nootka Cannery location only a few miles from Friendly Cove and the open west coast. The property is at the south-east end of Nootka Island, overlooking the waters of Cook Channel across to Bligh Island, with the mountains of Vancouver Island behind. This is a well-protected location with eastern exposure. A dedicated road access separates the undeveloped property from the ocean. The oceanfront across the roadway is low bank and easy access. The way the property is situated would allow for ocean views out to the waters of Cook Channel. There are rights that would allow for shared moorage with an adjacent property owner. To participate in the moorage would include a contribution to the annual costs and the existing improvements. This is to be arranged with the neighbour. The remains of the historic cannery wharf are still in place. Nootka Cannery operated from 1916 to the late 1940s in this location. Nootka Sound provides great recreational opportunities throughout the inland waters of the inlet. Friendly Cove and the open west coast waters of Nootka Sound are just to the south of this location.
